At TIG Excell we specialise in improving the living space of our clients, and a basement conversion is a great way to do that.
If you need more space for you and your family or you simply want to revitalise your home life, moving house isn’t the only option! This type of conversion is a great way to transform an often overlooked part of the home- your basement- into a new, functional part of the house, providing more room for you and your family. Space is precious- particularly in London- and adding practical and functional areas to your home will increase its value and improve the experience of living there.
Whatever you want to use this space for, TIG Excell can achieve your vision while maintaining high quality workmanship and ensuring the area is fully damp proof. We don’t cut corners and our small, specialised team allows us to oversee each part of the process so we can take full responsibility at every stage. Whether you know exactly what you want or you are more open to ideas from our design team, we always make sure we communicate well with our clients so that they aren’t left in the dark in terms of how long the project will take and how much it will cost. With most of our work coming from word of mouth, we go the extra mile to fully achieve customer satisfaction with no hidden fees.
Based in Feltham, we work across Richmond, Twickenham and across South-West London. TIG Excell partners with both domestic and commercial clients to provide comprehensive construction services. Frequently Asked Questions
This is not a requirement, but we can work from rough concepts or technical drawings that our client already has. Alternatively, we can work with an architect or structural engineer to turn your ideas into formal drawings.
← Do I need to have designs or architectural drawings already?
Absolutely. We take great care in ensuring your property is protected from damage from the time we start our work to the completion of the project. Before we begin we always ensure that our client’s floors, walls and furniture are all protected. If needed, we will set up a skip in a way that protects your property so that everything is well contained and easy to remove when our work is over.
← Do you clean up after yourselves?
All TIG Excell staff are fully qualified and equipped with all the Personal Protection Equipment that is required to keep themselves and those around them safe. We take regular training courses in the best practices of Health & Safety in the construction workplace. We carry out comprehensive risk assessment and health and safety briefings on site.
← What do you do to ensure safety?
We make sure that every project is fully compliant with british building regulations. Our qualifications, experience and working practices make sure that your home is fully compliant and completely safe; from electrics and foundations to plumbing and ventilation. Where necessary, we make sure that the designs calculated by architects and structural engineers are correctly implemented to carry out your project to the highest standard.
← Do you meet building regulations?
We will follow the specifications of the architect and engineer to make sure that we take all necessary measures to protect from water damage. Damp proofing is normally done before the project is started. We take great care to take all necessary precautions before we start, for example checking if subsurface water needs to be pumped out.
← Can you take care of waterproofing in my basement?
This depends on the situation. Levels of underground water and the location will determine which processes and materials we use. By carefully planning and then working to a very high standard we can create long lasting, usable underground rooms.
← What grades of damp protection can you offer?
We will pump out water if absolutely necessary, and we can treat all existing damp and all related areas too.
← If my basement isn’t already damp, will I need any extra protection?
We can dig out the floor to create more headroom in the basement. Our considerate team will make sure to do this with the least disruption possible, making sure that we protect all internal and external parts of your property if we need to carry out this kind of work.
← Can the floor be excavated if the existing height isn’t sufficient?
One of the things we check before we start is if there is the need to add ventilation. This will depend on your specific project, it’s just one of the many considerations we take into account when planning and implementing a construction project like this.
← Will there be enough ventilation in the basement?
